I love french beans. For the longest harvest you sow the plants in May/June, but you can often pick them through to October so if you start them now you could be picking beans all through September and beyond. Climbing french beans produce over the longest period and can be picked continuously. For a quicker crop I sow dwarf French beans in gaps in the veg garden when I clear early summer crops like garlic, potatoes and beetroot. Dwarf French beans are in my option the best late thing to sow tow
